Pink Eye

Jasmine was sent to the nurses office on the 2nd day of school and I was called to pick her up as she had pink eye. While at the doctor's office, the doctor noticed that Alex had it, as well. In talking to her, it turns out that Nathan likely had it for the previous week and a half. You learn something every day, right?

Alex is introduced to sushi

We took Jasmine out to eat to celebrate her first day of school. She was set on going to the Redfish Grill because she had seen the sign earlier, but had never been there. We met Grammie and Grandpa for dinner. She had a good time, but was exhausted from such a long day.

While we were there, Grandpa introduced sushi to Alexander. Alex enjoyed it while sitting with Grandpa, but not so much when it was on his own plate. We think that he liked the small pieces (since Grandpa cut it up for him), but seeing the big piece on his plate was a little much.

Lost and Found

In this picture we are waiting at the back hiker/biker door. Through the window we saw Jasmine walk down the hallway, and away from the door. She was walking with her friend, Emily, who is picked up from the front door. A very kind gentleman who chaperones the back door went to look for her. Eventually, they had to call her over the loud speaker and ask her to meet him in the main office.

She heard the announcement and was soon escorted to the back door to meet us. :) It was a little confusing the first day, but all went smoothly thereafter.

Alexander's school day

While Jasmine was at school on her first day, Alexander wanted to do school, as well. Here he is working on his school work, which he did diligently.

Meet the teacher night!

We met her teacher. We found out that she has a different teacher than we were first told. Her name is Ms. Miller and she seems very nice. The kids switch classes for math, science, and social studies. The teacher for those classes will be Mrs. Leasure.


Each student had a page to color while we, the parents, filled out a form. Then we received our first parent homework.

Sleepover with the Atkinsons

Before school started, Jasmine wanted to have Sarah spend the night. We were talking about Sarah spending the night with Alex and he wanted to have Alfred and Maggie spend the night. So, they were all able to spend the night! It was all very fun!

Jasmine and Sarah played a prank on Christophe. The red one says, "silly" and the white one says, "silly man."

Alexander was reading a story to Maggie while Maggie played with princess dolls.

They all slept in the living room together. They watched a movie and all stayed awake. Then we put on Mary Poppins and they all fell asleep.

Maggie and Sarah were the last holdouts. Eventually Maggie worked her way over to Sarah and played with her hair until they both fell asleep.

That is the name of Jasmine's soon to be first grade teacher at Farney. If you know her, I would love to know more about her than her name. She will, after all, be spending about 35 hours a week with my daughter.
