Our royal family

Memere came for a visit and took the kids for a walk to the school to play on the playground. In the recycling bin waiting for adventure were these borders that a teacher had thrown out at the end of the year. Jasmine rescued them and made them into crowns for everyone. While we tried to take a picture with them all wearing their new crowns, Nathan kept trying to take Alexander's apple. In the end, he did get the apple when Alex was finished with it and had a great time trying to eat it. He really did pretty well.

Jasmine's Get Together

Jasmine handed me a stack of invitations the other day that she had made herself for everyone in her preschool class. She drew a smiley face and a sad face with a checkbox next to each. She wrote, "Can you come?" She wrote "3:30 ". Then at the bottom she drew a telephone and wrote our telephone number next to it. The telephone was to let people know that the numbers were our phone number. It was all very cute. So, today was the party. It was funny how every parent was relieved that it wasn't a birthday party. Jasmine planned the entire party herself. She had a table set up with Candy Land and a table set up with a Halloween version of Guess Who called Monster Mix Up. There was a tent set up outside. She set out some fruit, vegetables and cheetos. There were juice boxes and even some cherry 7-up. Overall it was a great party. She had a good turnout and everyone had fun playing together.

Washer and Dryer

So, it has been more of an ordeal than I'd care to get into, but we've been without a washer and dryer for a little more than a month now. Today, on this very exciting day, we finally had a washer and dryer delivered. I think Jasmine and Alex may have been more excited than Christophe and I. It is a front loader, and the kids had fun watching it.

Thank you, Aunt Jennifer

Aunt Jennifer gave Jasmine and Alex and Nathan all a pair of converse during Nathan's baby shower that were all too big. I realized that Jasmine had outgrown all her shoes and I never noticed. Thankfully, Jennifer, the shoes you gave her finally fit. That reminded me to check Alex's and they fit, too. Here they are enjoying their new shoes. Nathan's are still a little big, but he enjoyed playing with them.

Nathan eats cheerios

So, it's official. Nathan does not like baby food. He won't eat it. However, this past weekend he enjoyed some teething biscuits. Christophe decided to try to give him Cheerios tonight to see what he would do, and he loved them. Here are a few pictures and even a video.

Here is the video.

Jasmine graduates preschool

This is the first time Jasmine has had curlers in her hair. She is watching The Mr. Men Show while she waits.

Here is the back.

Here she all made up and curled and ready for preschool graduation.

This is Jasmine and Ms. Sara. Ms. Sara has been Jasmine's preschool teacher for two years now.

Here is Jasmine's class coming into the gym. Jasmine is just coming through the red doors.
In this picture they are singing a song they learned. To her left is her friend Kayla and to her right is her friend Kate.
Ms. Annette said some nice things about each child. She said that she appreciated Jasmine's helpfulness and will miss her smile. As Miss Sara handed out each child's diploma and award, everyone said what they wanted to be when they grew up. Jasmine was the only fashion designer. :) Jasmine's award was an outstanding reader award. Ms. Cathey gave each child their own Bibl e. There was cake and juice and lots of fun with balloons. It was fun.

Nathan holds himself up

This is the first time Nathan has held himself up by himself. He is trying to get to the Quakes on the couch. Sometimes it is good for kids to spill their food.

Here he is after he tripped over the couch cushion. He never did make it to the food.

Drinking apple juice

Jasmine puts Nathan in a box

I went into the kitchen for a minute and asked Jasmine to watch Nathan. When I came back, this is where I found him.

That is Jasmine's shoe that he is eating.

Here he is trying to make his escape.

Behind Nathan, you can see the seat with seat belt and the clutch and gas pedals in the car Jasmine designed. Alex is peeking around the box where he lying with his pile of books.

Nathan drinks from a straw

It took him a few tries, but he finally figured out how to get water out and drink it.

Jasmine

We took some pictures of Jasmine today to upload to a Princess game where she can become a Princess. I just thought this picture turned out pretty.

Josh visits

Today Josh visited all by himself for the first time. They all had a great time playing. For a little while they played school. Of course Jasmine was the teacher. These are pictures of their craft time.

Alex's new haircut

Here he is before his haircut. It was too difficult to tear his eyes away from Wonder Pets to look at the camera.

Here he is after his haircut. He doesn't like scissors, so he gets to have his hair shaved instead.

Around the house

They are playing with their Leap Frog reader deal. Alex still needs a little help.

Nathan decided that he wants to play. He always crawls to the Leap Pad books.

Jasmine ties her shoes

Jasmine learned to tie her very own shoes. She practiced for a couple of days on some wooden animals that are made to practice lacing. I think this is the only pair of shoes that she has that actually tie. :)

Aren't those bows nicely tied? She did a great job. If you have any lacing needs, she can be hired out. She is saving up to buy a new Webkinz. Evidently four just isn't enough. (She did buy the last three by herself, though.)

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you mothers!

"On this 100th anniversary of Mother's Day, the woman credited with creating one of the world's most celebrated holidays probably wouldn't be pleased with all the flowers, candy or gifts. Anna Jarvis would want us to give mothers a white carnation — she felt it signified the purity of a mother's love. Jarvis, who never married and never had children, got the Mother's Day idea after her mother said it would be nice if someone created a memorial to mothers."

Nathan is crawling

We did better with the crawling than the rolling. We actually have BOTH pictures AND video. I don't know what it is with Nathan and games, but this time he was trying to get to the Memory game.

Nathan is victorious! He proudly displays his treasure.

He's reaching out. It may look like he's trying to get to me, but really he just wants more cards.

Alexander does love to roll around on his brother. I used to worry that he would crush Nathan, but, as you can see, Nathan doesn't seem to mind.

Jasmine came to congratulate Nathan on learning to crawl.

The video is a minute and a half. It is action packed!

Teething Together

Alex and Nathan are both getting new teeth. Nathan is getting his third tooth. It is coming in on the top gum, in the middle, on his left. Alexander is getting a molar. Tylenol has become our friend.

Nathan is 6 months old

Nathan turned six months old. He until yesterday has shown absolutely no interest in eating any kind of food. Finally, today he was excited about some cantalope at a baby shower this afternoon. So, for dinner, we tried some carrots. He actually ate some instead of spitting it out everywhere.
