A sad day

Today was the final day that the kids got to play with Gabe (the boy who lived down the street) before he moved to Florida. Nathan is too little to play in the front yard, so only Jasmine and Alexander are in the original pictures with him. Later, Gabe came back to drop something off, so Nathan was able to get a picture with him, too. Jasmine was too busy trying not to cry and couldn't make it to the door for the last picture. I thought that was sad until the next morning when we all sat outside and watched him drive away in the moving van. :( There have been a lot of phone calls since then and they are eagerly awaiting his return to Mario Kart.

One afternoon

Nathan is taking a nap while Jasmine and Alexander are reading their poetry book or listening to the associated CD.

Making Lemonade

Jasmine and Gabe made us some fresh lemonade. Christophe is off to the side giving them pointers.

Snake Cucumber

We thought we were growing pumpkins, but these 2 feet long gourd looking things began to grow instead. It turns out, they are snake cucumbers. They are a type of melon that taste like a cross between cucumbers and honeydews.
