Last year, due to a variety of reasons, we did not really get together at Port O'Connor for our usual Fourth of July holiday. This year, the tradition was back albeit with more kids and no fireworks. :) Next year, they may need a nursery. I don't know how Mr. and Mrs. Hawes put up with us each year. It used to be for free labor for the firework show and a nice guitarfest in the evening, but now it is just for fun. We had great food (including the best chicken fried steak ever....though no spicy shrimp this year), great conversations and lots of fun in the pool. We made it out to the beach one night, but it rained a bit much for going any more than that.

Here is the annual group photo. Thanks to Natalie for making that a priority each year. The line up, as best as I can organize them, is Natalie, Jeff, Laura holding Josh, Chris, Renee holding Alexander, Kristen, Mrs. Hawes, Mr. Hawes and Christophe and Jasmine on th bottom. This was taken at the Fishing Center, Mr. and Mrs. Hawes' bait shop.
Jasmine, Renee, Christophe, and Alexander enjoying the pool. I think this was literally ten minutes after we had arrived in Port O'Connor. How is that for relaxation?
This is our family photo at the beach. This is one of two family photos that I could find recently. I believe you have already seen our other one.
This is Alexander looking cool in the water. He had a blast. We (and by we I mean Christophe) were trying to keep him standing, so he didn't get wet and cold. That didn't last long and soon he was really enjoying himself.
Jasmine enjoyed running and splashing and dancing in the water. In this area of the beach she could run a long way, but he water stays shallow enough to be fun but not dangerous. It is a nice kids beach. :)
