For Nathan's birthday, we began the day with a birthday breakfast at IHOP with my mom and Aunt Joyce.
There happened to be a lady there making ballon animals. She even made a special one year old birthday balloon for Nathan. You can't see it, but the top yellow balloon says, 'Happy Birthday,' all over it. That is a blue bear hanging on to the yellow balloon. Jasmine and Alexander each chose a dog named Cutie and Wall-e, respectively.
After eating his pancakes, eggs and bacon, the IHOP staff surprised him (and us) with a sundae. They sang to him and everything, which he was very excited about....not as excited as he was for the sundae.
My mom made him lemon cupcakes for his birthday. The candle had a blue flame and everything.
Nathan focussed most on the sundae, but everyone else enjoyed the cupcakes.
He did enjoy the sundae.
And he somehow enjoyed the clean up after the sundae. That is a sign of a very good day. He usually hates that part.
Here we all are. Happy Birthday, Nathan!

Nathan made out like a bandit. That's quite the balloon and such a big sundae for a little guy. He looks like he was on cloud 9. Maybe you should give him ice cream and balloon every time you want to clean his face. :)
